Alcester Day Care is a day centre to support people with dementia, their carers, family and friends. It is the follow on from Alcester Cafe which supports people with dementia and their carers together. Day Care will provide support for people with dementia on their own whilst their carers can have some respite.
Patients across South Warwickshire are to be offered evening and weekend appointments thanks to a new service, called GP+, being provided by the South Warwickshire GP Federation (SWGP).
From 3 September, patients in South Warwickshire will be able to book face-to-face or telephone appointments at two GP+ ‘hubs’ from 6-9pm on weekdays and 9am-1pm on weekends.
Routine and same day appointments will be offered with GPs, nurses and clinical pharmacists. In addition there will be same day appointments from 6-9pm on weekdays for children aged 0-16 who need treatment after school hours.
Smoking can seriously damage your health. For advice and assistance in giving up smoking contact the surgery to book an appointment. Our Health Care Assistant runs this clinic and would happy to take new referrals.
We pride ourselves with the best record of performing cervical smears in Warwickshire for the past three years. Tests are offered to all female patients between the ages of 25 and 64. These are performed by our Practice Nurse by appointment. All women are advised to have regular smear tests – three yearly for woman between the ages of 25 and 50 and five yearly between the ages of the 51 and 64. We operate an efficient recall system for all our patients and are very proud of this.
Certain services provided by your Doctor are not covered by the NHS and you may be asked to pay a fee. Examples are pre-employment medicals, private medicals, private sick certificates, insurance claims, fitness to drive medical, private medical insurance claims and holiday cancellation claims and Pilot medicals . Our fees are in line with the recommended BMA rates.
